American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience, cardiac drip management skills, and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry unit in a hospital setting with 32 beds
• Adult to geriatric patient population including cardiac (CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias), renal, pulmonary (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT), surgical (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains), post cardiac cath, DKA, and occasional vascular and overflow ortho/CVA patients
• Unit also serves as overflow IMCU
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Cardiac drip experience required: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin
• Diuretic experience required: Bumex, Lasix
• Anticoagulant drip experience required: Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin
• Insulin drip experience required
• Epic (preferred) and Pyxis used on unit; SBAR communication standard
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Weekend rotation typically every other weekend; permanent staff are scheduled first and travelers fill in the remaining gaps
• Floating required within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• On-call is rare with a 2-hour response time requirement
• 14-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Prior cardiac telemetry experience with drip management required (see job details for specific drips)
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge and arrhythmia management skills required
• TR Band and cardioversion experience required
• No special scheduling requests; the listed night shift is firm and no alternate shifts will be considered

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates with prior employment or travel assignments at any Piedmont facility must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• RTO maximum of 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
• Major holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time; late compliance results in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
