American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Behavioral Health / Psychiatric night shift position at an acute inpatient behavioral health and addictions hospital in Lafayette, IN.

• Acute inpatient behavioral health and addictions hospital setting
• Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit with two rotating units — staff work across both
• Adult patient population with diagnoses including substance abuse disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, PTSD, and anxiety disorders
• 48-bed unit with a 12:1 patient ratio (dependent on census)
• Patients are medically cleared prior to arrival; patients with lines or tubes (except CPAPs and those requiring 2L O2 or less) are excluded
• Primarily paper charting with HCS used for order entry; medications dispensed via Pyxis
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license in Indiana or a Compact state currently in hand
• AHA certifications required: CPR/BLS and Handle with Care (HWC)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Social Security number required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Experience with crisis intervention, verbal de-escalation, active listening, and empathetic communication is preferred
• Accurate and thorough charting and behavioral management skills are valued
• Strong candidates will be critical thinkers, positive team players, and demonstrate empathy
• Navy blue scrubs required; hoodies are not permitted
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full time elsewhere are not eligible
