American Traveler is hiring a Flex Pool RN for a float position across medical and surgical units in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active HI RN license.

Details

• Float position covering multiple units including a Medical Unit (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)
• Patient population includes adult med/surg and step-down level patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: Medical 1:6 (days/evenings) and 1:8 (nights), Laulima 1:6, Cardiovascular 1:4
• 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, scheduled 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
• Meditech EMR in use
• Equipment includes Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes

Requirements

• Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
• Experience with med/surg and step-down patient populations required
• Ability to float across medical, surgical, and cardiovascular units

Additional Information

• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of their assignment; this appointment is held at the facility's Employee Health office and attendance is mandatory
• Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start date in order to attend the Employee Health appointment on Friday morning
• Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent assignment
• Documented proof of immunity is required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu of documentation
• Professional nursing attire and clean scrubs are required
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
