American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring prior travel experience and active SC or Compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a 97-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM); 3x12 schedule may be considered
• Patient ratios of 1:6 to 1:7
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Royal blue scrubs required
• No-cost parking on-site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be active prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are given priority
• Local candidates are eligible but will be considered at a reduced rate
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Required pre-start modules must be completed before the first day; access to modules is typically granted the Wednesday prior to the start date
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
