American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum) night shift position in New Braunfels, TX, requiring fetal monitoring certification and at least 1 year of perinatal nursing experience.

Details

• LDRP unit combining labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Full-time, 13-week travel contract
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or through a compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Current NRP certification required
• Current fetal heart monitoring certification required from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
• Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification required (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor)
• Minimum 1 year of perinatal or L&D nursing experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Current, active copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for perinatal patients
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed during onboarding, including both organizational and Perinatal Services-specific requirements
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• Experience in a perinatal RN residency or recent practice in a perinatal setting is preferred
