American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Acute Dialysis travel contract in North Carolina, requiring 2+ years of RN experience and mandatory Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Hospital-based Hemodialysis Department operating 24/7, with 9 bays and 1 isolation room for Hepatitis B patients
• Patient population includes those with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute kidney injury (AKI), metabolic imbalances, dialysis access problems, or drug overdoses requiring hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
• Apheresis patients present with neurologic, renal, or hematologic/oncologic diagnoses
• Patients are acutely ill with a variety of medical-surgical or critical care diagnoses; hemodynamically unstable ICU patients are treated bedside in their rooms
• Department is equipped for telemetry monitoring with a central cardiac monitoring station
• Equipment used includes Tablo Dialysis Devices, Baxter Amia PD Devices, and Spectra Optia Apheresis Devices
• EMR: Epic (required)
• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends and occasional holiday coverage required
• Float required between 3 health system campuses
• On-call required on Sunday nights only

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Copies of certifications and a valid driver's license (DL) required for consideration
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Provide hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, apheresis, and telemetry monitoring care across a diverse acute patient population
• Peritoneal dialysis treatments are performed in the patient's room; average length of stay in the department for hemodialysis/apheresis is 4–5 hours
• Supported by a team of certified hemodialysis technicians and a nursing secretary
• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam (two attempts allowed) as part of compliance onboarding — no study materials are provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
