American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week ICU travel contract in Concord, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and the ability to float across a multi-facility regional network.

Details

• 40-bed ICU within a 457-bed Level 3 Trauma Center that is also a Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Chest Pain Center
• Patient population includes ventilated patients, stroke and thrombectomy patients, optiflow, BiPAP, overdose, endotool, CRRT, GI bleeds, and trauma patients
• Patient ratio: 1:1–3
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a, 36 hours/week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend, no on-call required
• Floating is required within Region 1 (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH – peds only) per regional needs; candidates must be agreeable to floating to all facilities listed or should decline
• EMR: Epic
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, Arctic Sun, Hemosphere, Belmont rapid transfuser, and life flow

Requirements

• Active RN license in NC or a compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• General ICU skillset required: critical care drip management (insulin, vasopressors, sedation), invasive line management (arterial lines, CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube care, ventilator management, blood product administration, and wound care
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidate's permanent address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Department support includes 24/7 charge nurse, CNAs, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivists; no HUC/receptionist on unit
• RNs are responsible for phlebotomy; one hospital-level resource is available to assist if needed
• Hardwire monitors and travel telemetry boxes are used for telemetry monitoring
• Orientation includes NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; any missed contracted hours must be made up by extending the contract
• Navy scrubs required
• Free designated parking is available on-site
• Unit culture is described as highly collaborative across both day and night shifts
• Candidates who have worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
