American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down Unit position requiring Epic proficiency, ACLS certification, and a background managing complex diagnoses such as liver failure, sepsis, and DKA.

Details

• Step Down Unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes pre-liver transplant, acute/chronic liver failure, end-stage renal disease, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), sepsis, acute/chronic respiratory failure, and heart failure
• Special procedures include hospice care and immunoglobulin therapy
• Floating required as part of unit expectations
• Epic EMR experience required
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; all certifications must be AHA-issued
• Prior Step Down or similar acute care RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible
• Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may assign travelers to an Emergency Team, which may require remaining at the facility during or after an emergency event or serving on a relief team
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
• Holiday coverage expectations may apply per unit scheduling needs
