American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular OR Surgical Technologist (CVOR Tech) for a hospital-based position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR/open heart experience and BLS certification.

• Hospital-based CVOR setting
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts per week, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• On-call is required for this position
• Holiday coverage and work during inclement weather is required

Requirements

• Active AR or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR/open heart surgical technologist required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist for up to 8–12 hours per shift
• Must be able to occasionally lift 50+ lbs of equipment and assist with lifting patients of 125+ lbs using proper body mechanics
• Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations including CPR and obtaining equipment
• 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration

Additional Information

• Assists surgeons and surgical personnel in the OR by setting up the operating room, passing instruments and supplies, holding retractors, cutting sutures, and counting sponges, needles, and instruments
• Responsible for direct perioperative patient care and adhering to all standards of perioperative care
• Must demonstrate proficiency in a wide variety of high-level surgical technologist skills in the CVOR
• Facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana — a positive result is an automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid anything that could result in a positive test, including CBD products
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• This position is designated safety-sensitive under Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana
