American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level III or higher NICU day shift position in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 3 years of exclusive NICU experience and ventilator training.

Details

• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in a large regional medical center
• Level II Trauma Center and home to the region's only children's hospital
• 3x12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• Call requirements to be discussed during interview
• Floating to other units may be required up to competency level
• One additional shift pick-up required per schedule period
• Uses Epic for charting; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
• Uses Kronos for time keeping

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required; candidates who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may be considered but must apply immediately upon offer
• Current AHA certifications: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 3 years of exclusive NICU experience in a Level III NICU or higher
• Ventilator training and experience required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonatal patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinates care with other healthcare professionals as needed
• Coverage for a minimum of 2 major holidays is required
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a 13-week break after their contract ends before returning
• Blocked scheduling is not allowed
• RTO requests must be submitted prior to consideration; time off will not be added to the end of the contract to compensate for RTO
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
