Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with a NM or compact license, at least two years of large OR experience, and the ability to scrub.

Details

• Position is in the hospital Operating Room
• Works with surgical patients in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
• Required to scrub on surgical cases in a large OR
• 12-hour day shifts on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10:30 to 23:00
• Floating between departments and locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR experience is preferred, with on-site training available

Requirements

• Active NM or compact state RN license required
• Current BLS certification through AHA, American Health and Safety, or Red Cross is required
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• Minimum two years of recent large OR experience required
• Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Ability to scrub is required
• PALS and ACLS preferred but not required
• Ortho, EENT, and/or vascular surgery experience is a plus
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles away (no locals allowed)
• Returning former permanent staff must have a one-year gap before consideration

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
• Coordinates patient care with families and the healthcare team
• May supervise LPNs and assistive personnel as part of the team structure
• Completion of population, procedure, and protocol competency testing required per unit standards
• Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Testing is not required for this role
• Orientation provided at the start of assignment
• Travelers are expected to accept the first job offer; no offer shopping
• Epic EMR is used; previous experience is beneficial but not mandatory
