American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position providing invasive and non-invasive respiratory care across a broad patient population including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

• Inpatient respiratory therapy department
• Patient population spans neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week, 3 nights per week
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Must hold RRT credential; candidates within 6 months of graduation from a Registry Program may be considered but must attain RRT within 90 days of hire
• Active state Respiratory Care license required if applicable
• BLS certification (Healthcare Provider level) through the American Heart Association required
• NRP required for those working in the NICU
• Competency with ventilator operation, patient assessment, and arterial punctures
• Clinical experience in emergency airway management, extubation, tracheotomies, and naso-/oro-pharyngeal airways preferred
• Experience in a variety of ICU, emergency, and/or specialty care settings preferred
• Thorough understanding of all drugs used in respiratory care procedures
• Proof of address and one supervisory reference required for consideration
• Candidate's full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide invasive and non-invasive respiratory care under physician supervision, including evaluation of cardiopulmonary function and assessment of treatment effectiveness
• Treats patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system using professional judgment
• Pass/fail EKG test administered on the first day with two attempts allowed; study guides will be provided
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates are accepted
• Vocational/Technical degree in Respiratory Therapy required
