American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED) position in Austin, TX, requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and working night shifts on a 13-week contract.

Details

• Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED) with 11 beds
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Rotating weekend requirement
• No on-call requirements
• Staffing model includes 1 Charge Nurse Coordinator (CNC) and 1 RN per shift
• Meditech EMR in use
• Common procedures include IV starts and 12-lead EKG/patient assessment
• Ventilators and point-of-care (POC) lab machines are used on the unit
• Floating to other facility FSEDs is required as needed

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ER/emergency nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
• TNCC certification required
• CPI certification required (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• FSED experience is preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
