American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center with strong Neuro/Ortho experience, robotics familiarity, and rotating call requirements.

Details

• Large acute care hospital with 25 OR suites averaging 75–100 cases per day
• Level 1 Trauma Center setting
• Surgical specialties include General, GYN, Urology, laparoscopic, Neuro, and Ortho procedures
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Shifts are 8 hours with possible extension to 10 hours; day shift with rotation to PM shift
• Every other weekend required
• Call required 1–2 days per week and every 3–4 weekends
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Equipment includes Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic equipment, arthroscopy equipment, and Stealth navigation for Neuro cases
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active ND or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; must be active and not pending at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience required
• Large hospital experience required (250+ beds with Level 1 Trauma status)
• Experience in an acute facility with 15 or more OR suites required; outpatient center experience is not sufficient
• Strong Neuro and Ortho procedural experience required, including navigation systems
• Experience with General surgical, GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic cases required
• Experience with robotics/DaVinci preferred
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one peer or supervisor reference from the position's specialty within the last 3 years
• BSN not required
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Circulating RN responsibilities include sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, patient positioning, electronic documentation, and OR equipment setup and utilization
• May occasionally float to a sister campus (rare)
• Facility-provided ceil blue scrubs
• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates living between 60–80 miles from the facility may be considered but are subject to a reduced travel pay rate
• Previous Sanford Health employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to the date of consideration
• A manager interview will take place prior to an offer being extended
• First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible; strong experience profile recommended
