American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 1 year of OR experience and Epic proficiency for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital in Washington State.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 staffed beds
• Teaching hospital environment with a broad and complex surgical caseload
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 5:15 PM)
• On-call required to meet department needs; on-call shifts may occur on weeknights or weekends
• Weekend commitment is on-call only
• 1:1 patient ratio
• May float to an outpatient surgical center
• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state
• Charting via Epic (required)
• Scrubs: any color permitted
• No parking fee

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of OR scrub technologist experience
• Proficiency in scrubbing pediatric, ENT, and plastic surgery cases required
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• Valid WA or Compact allied license required; license required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• First-time travelers will be considered

Additional Information

• Scrub cases across a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatric surgery, transplant, and robotics (Da Vinci Xi)
• Preferred skills include robotic-assisted surgery (Da Vinci Xi), pediatric OR, trauma, free flap/microvascular, and transplant procedures
• Responsibilities include aseptic technique, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling and labeling, universal protocol/time-out procedures, and equipment documentation
• Familiarity with crash carts and case carts expected
• Candidates who were formerly permanent staff at a Providence facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (location and dates) at time of consideration
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted
• All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-submission RTO requests may not be approved and inflexibility may result in contract termination
