American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical unit position requiring Epic proficiency, BLS certification, and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting, serving adolescents through geriatric patient populations
• 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Unit utilizes remote telemetry monitoring
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO is capped at 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Spring Break (April 4–12) is a blackout period during which RTO will not be approved
• Holiday coverage is expected: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be available to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be available to work two of them — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No scheduling changes or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted shift is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates with a history with this health system (as a direct employee or prior traveler) should be disclosed upfront
