American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position requiring at least 2 years of experience, BLS and OCN certifications, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical Oncology unit with 19 beds and an average daily census of 15 patients
• Adult to geriatric patient population with oncology and hematology diagnoses ranging from initial diagnosis through end-of-life care, including oncologic emergencies and DNR/comfort care
• Procedures and equipment include chemo precautions, morphine drips, Dilaudid drips, CADD pumps, and PCA pumps
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Epic EMR required; Pyxis and SBAR also used
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the facility and potentially to a sister campus approximately 3 miles away
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and OCN certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Oncology nursing experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required

• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO is capped at 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Spring Break (April 6–12) is a blackout period with no RTO permitted
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review — Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
• No alternate shifts or schedule change requests are permitted; the posted day shift schedule is firm
• Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a travel nurse
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
