American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position requiring a minimum of 18 months of experience, telemetry skills, and night shift availability at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana.

Details

• Work in a Cardiac and Medical PCU functioning as a true ICU stepdown unit in a short-term acute care hospital with 194 staffed beds
• Patient population includes heart cath patients, and those requiring BiPAP, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips (e.g., Levo, Dopa, Nitro, Cardizem, Amio)
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (18:00–06:30)
• Weekend availability required
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required to meet facility needs
• Charting system: Cerner (experience required)
• Scrub color: red top, black bottoms
• Free parking available
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand; pending licenses are not accepted
• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS (AHA or RQI accepted); NIH Stroke Scale preferred
• Minimum 18 months of RN experience required
• Telemetry, IV start, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen experience required
• Trauma level experience (Level I, II, III, or IV) required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Ventilator management, charge nurse experience, and conscious sedation experience preferred

• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved
• Former permanent or PRN employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Indiana RN license holders should be aware that this health system has restrictions on IN-licensed RNs; PCU positions are not exempt from this policy — an IN or Compact license is required, so candidates should confirm eligibility
