American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Dialysis position in Rochester, NY, requiring both acute and chronic outpatient dialysis experience along with charge nurse experience.

Details

• Dialysis unit in a hospital setting with both acute (8-station) and outpatient chronic dialysis coverage
• Charge nurse responsibilities for a 24-chair unit when assigned
• Day/evening shifts, Monday through Friday, between 5:30 AM – 10:30 PM in 8-, 10-, or combination 8- and 12-hour increments based on department needs
• Every other weekend required, with occasional Sundays due to holidays, between 5:30 AM – 10:30 PM
• Floating required to all other dialysis locations
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of dialysis nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Both acute and chronic outpatient dialysis experience required
• Proficiency with Fresenius 2008T machine required
• Skills required include: cannulation of AV grafts and AV fistulas, administration of blood and blood products, dialysate conductivity testing, tunneled/non-tunneled catheter management, blood glucose monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and infection control
• Ability to manage dialysis-related emergencies including hypotension, cardiac arrest/CPR, fluid overload, hemolysis, seizures, hyperkalemia, pyrogenic reactions, and other acute complications
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
