American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at a stroke-certified hospital unit in Portland, ME, requiring at least 1 year of travel experience and telemetry skills.

Details

• 18-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit, serving as one of the hospital's stroke-certified units
• Patient population consists primarily of medical telemetry patients
• Day shift patient ratios: goal 1:4, max 1:5; night shift ratios: goal 1:5, max 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend shifts required based on unit need
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required per unit float rotation guidelines, including potential float between facilities within a 25-mile radius
• Equipment used includes PLUM IV pumps and Stryker
• EMR: Epic
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active ME RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of travel RN experience required
• Inpatient acute medical-surgical experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Preferred skills include PCA management, epidural care, wound vac, and IV pump experience
• Education modules required: Stroke, SI/Restraints, Telemetry, and Blood Glucose
• No specific scrub color required; all attire must comply with hospital appearance policy
• Cell phones, AirPods, and laptops are not permitted on the unit
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and subject to a different bill rate; local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this at the time of consideration
