American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac PCU (Progressive Care Unit) travel assignment in Birmingham, AL, requiring at least 2 years of cardiac stepdown experience and active AHA certifications.

Details

• 3 West Cardiac PCU unit in a 505-bed hospital setting in Birmingham, AL
• 42-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
• Cardiac patient population, including patients requiring stepdown-level monitoring and care
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope, including to facilities within a 25-mile radius
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — license must have no disciplinary actions or hits
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — American Red Cross certifications are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac stepdown experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac progressive care nursing to a stepdown-level patient population
• The facility is a recognized leader in aortic valve surgery, heart attack, heart failure, stroke, and COPD care, and holds Primary Stroke Center certification from The Joint Commission
• Navy blue scrubs required
• SSN and DOB will be required for consideration
• Certifications must not be expired or set to expire within 30 days of the assignment start date; proof of enrollment in a renewal class may be used as a placeholder
