American Traveler is hiring a travel EEG Technologist for a pediatric hospital setting, requiring ABRET registration and hands-on experience with neonates through adolescents, including children with special needs.

Details

• Pediatric hospital setting specializing in EEG diagnostics
• Patient population includes neonates through age 18, including children with special needs
• Performs routine, sleep, bedside, intra-operative EEGs, and electrocerebral silence recordings, as well as evoked potential studies
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekends required
• On-call may be required depending on the number of EMU patients scheduled
• No floating required
• Block scheduling available
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of EEG experience required; 2+ years preferred
• Pediatric EEG experience required, including neonates, patients up to age 18, and children with special needs
• R. EEG T. (Registered EEG Technologist) registration through ABRET required; license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Knowledge of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, basic electronics, electrical safety, and EEG instrumentation
• Proficiency with the international 10-20 electrode placement system
• Experience with intra-operative EEGs and at least one modality of evoked potential
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

• Responsibilities include gathering comprehensive patient histories from patients, records, and family members, covering seizure types, neurological symptomatology, and medications
• Applies and troubleshoots electrode placement, impedance checks, montage adjustments, and artifact recognition and documentation
• Responds appropriately to patient emergencies and upholds patient safety protocols at all times
• Maintains equipment cleanliness, calibration, and proper working order
• Gray (pewter) scrubs required
• Participates in departmental conferences and technical meetings
