Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Charge Nurse role in a General Surgery unit, requiring a CO or Compact RN license and at least one year of surgical nursing experience.

Details

• General Surgery inpatient unit in a hospital setting
• 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend schedule covering Saturday through Monday; Saturday and Sunday only scheduling may be accommodated
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license required (no pending licenses)
• BSN from an accredited institution required (degree will be verified)
• Current AHA BLS certification required; must not expire prior to assignment start
• Additional unit-specific certifications (e.g., ACLS) required per unit standards; all certifications must be AHA-issued
• Minimum 1 year of General Surgery nursing experience required
• Prior charge nurse or leadership/mentoring experience required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Charge Nurse responsibilities include operational and clinical leadership of the unit, staffing coordination, delegation, and holding staff accountable to outcomes and behavioral standards
• Mediates conflict between staff, families, physicians, and other departments and serves as a resource for communication and rounding best practices
• Participates in and facilitates continuous quality improvement in clinical care, service experience, and operational effectiveness
• Completion of Charge Nurse training required upon start
• Former permanent Intermountain employees must have been separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year to be eligible
