American Traveler is seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute behavioral health inpatient unit in Avondale, AZ, requiring at least 2 years of psych nursing experience and AZ or Compact RN licensure.

• Acute behavioral health inpatient unit with 72 beds
• Adult psychiatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 12:1
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Pinpoint
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Handle With Care (HWC) certification required — CPI is not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• AHA-issued certifications required (non-AHA versions not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide psychotherapy and counseling therapies including group, individual, and family sessions for patients with psychiatric and substance abuse disorders
• Actively participate in treatment planning, goal-setting, and plan revisions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Communicate with patients, families, and referral sources within HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 guidelines, documenting all correspondence
• Collaborate with utilization review staff regarding patient length of stay and treatment
• Develop thorough discharge plans and ensure timely distribution of after-care paperwork to patients, families, and referral sources
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during this assignment
