American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU position at a major academic medical center in Maryland, requiring an MD or compact RN license, ACLS, and experience with all-acuity peri-anesthesia care across the full lifespan.

Details

• 28-bay Main PACU unit providing 24/7 peri-anesthesia care 365 days a year
• Patients span the full lifespan including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Serves patients from more than 20 surgical and procedural specialties, including both scheduled and emergency surgeries
• Patient acuity ranges across the full spectrum, requiring skills in vasopressor titration, airway management, ventilator care, blood product administration, and fluid resuscitation
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Rotating day and night shifts on 12-hour schedules (07:00–19:00 and 19:30–07:30)
• Three weekend shifts required per 4-week period
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• On-call required: 1–2 twelve-hour call shifts per 6-week schedule (7:00–19:30 and 19:00–07:30 windows)
• Floating required within the specialty, to other units, and to sister facilities within scope

Requirements

• Active MD state RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• PACU or peri-anesthesia nursing experience required
• Competency in vasopressor titration, airway management, ventilator care, blood product administration, and fluid resuscitation required

Additional Information

• Provide pre- and post-operative care to inpatients and outpatients across the full lifespan and spectrum of surgical and procedural acuity
• Navy blue scrubs required
