American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital in Lancaster, SC, requiring active travel experience and PCU experience strongly preferred.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 97 staffed beds
• MS/Tele unit with potential floating to PCU as needed to support facility flexibility
• Patient ratio of 1:6 to 1:7
• Day shift available as 3x12s or 4x12s (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Charting in Epic
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have it active before starting
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg experience required
• PCU experience strongly preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must float within scope to PCU if needed, making PCU experience strongly preferred
• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration and are subject to facility approval
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted but at a reduced rate
• Mandatory online modules must be completed prior to the start date
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
