American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Magnet-designated Level I trauma center in Springfield, IL, requiring PICC line management experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting — Magnet-designated, Level I trauma center with 562 total staffed beds
• 23-bed Medical Surgical unit
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts with an 18:45 start time
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope is required, including to nearby affiliate hospitals
• No on-call requirements
• Charting performed in Cerner (experience preferred)
• Block scheduling may be accommodated — connect with manager to discuss
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; candidates actively in the IL licensure application process with an ETA will be considered
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required; AHA and Red Cross accepted (RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• PICC line management and IV start experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner experience preferred

• Any current or former permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or fewer is ideally requested; anything beyond 5 days requires facility approval — all time-off requests should be submitted upfront
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• Any solid color scrubs are acceptable
• Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years are required, along with a full 7-year work history with all gaps explained
