American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position specializing in Orthopedic and Neuro care, requiring Epic proficiency and active TX or compact licensure.

Details

• Medical/Surgical unit within a hospital setting, focused on Orthopedic and Neurological patient populations
• 35-bed unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Telemetry is monitored through a centralized unit rather than at the bedside
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, with a 36 or 48 hour per week option
• Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• Epic EMR used; experience within the last 6 months required
• Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians, Patient Transporters, a free-floating charge nurse, and a house discharge nurse

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the last 6 months required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler

• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; logos are not permitted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
