American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring 2+ years of experience, multiple certifications, and flexibility for on-call and float assignments.

Details

• Work setting is an Interventional Radiology unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
• Patient population includes interventional radiology and pain management cases
• Schedule is five 8-hour day shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), Monday–Friday; no block scheduling
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required, with occasional weekend day shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM)
• On-call rotation is assigned on a weekly basis: M–F 12:00 AM–8:00 AM, and 24-hour on-call coverage on weekends and holidays; rotation is shared among all nurses
• This is a mandatory float facility — travelers are required to float within the Radiology and Pain departments at the facility's discretion
• Charting is done in Cerner
• Lead aprons/protective gear are required and must be worn during shifts

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; pending licensure is not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Interventional radiology or pain management nursing experience strongly preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Must be willing and able to float within the Radiology and Pain departments as needed

Additional Information

• Proof of COVID vaccination is required; no exceptions (booster not required)
• Navy blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• RTO is capped at 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
• RTO on weekends will not be approved
• No RTO on holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are accepted and preferred
• No special scheduling requests will be accommodated
