American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring at least one year of ED experience, AHA-issued BLS and ACLS certifications, and a valid OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Adult Emergency Department in a hospital setting
• ED overflow/expansion unit
• Night shift schedule, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Travel within the ED environment required
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA-issued certifications only
• Minimum of 1 year of ED nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Responsible for managing an assigned group of patients, administering medications, and monitoring physiological data
• Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Assists physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders
• Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures, and makes appropriate referrals
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible for a new contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) is strictly enforced and must be initiated promptly upon offer acceptance
