American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Surgical unit position requiring at least 1 year of experience, Level 1 Trauma background, and the ability to float across all children's acute care units.

Details

• Position is based in a hospital pediatric surgical unit
• Patients range from surgical to acute care populations including behavioral health, GI, neuro, respiratory, hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac pediatrics
• Floating required across all children's acute care units, including surgical, behavioral health, med specialty, hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
• May be floated to NICU, but only to care for feeder growers and low-acuity patients — not traditional NICU assignments
• Schedule: three 12-hour day shifts per week (3x12s)
• Full-time, 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Up to 1 year of Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen, and infusion therapy required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsible for managing an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions, and administering medications including IV infusions and blood products
• Collaborates with physicians during patient exams and minor diagnostic procedures, monitors physiological data, and intervenes as necessary
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions, and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• BSN is preferred but not required
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before being eligible for a subsequent contract
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
