American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric Medical Specialty unit position requiring at least one year of RN experience, AHA-issued BLS and PALS certifications, and an active OK or compact RN license.

• Inpatient hospital setting on a Pediatric Medical Specialty unit
• Patient population includes pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Day shift schedule
• Full-time, 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no other issuing bodies accepted
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of pediatric patients, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Engages patients and families in care planning throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once, for a maximum total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for a subsequent contract
• Compliance requirements (drug screen, background check, medical requirements) are strictly enforced and must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — non-compliance may result in cancellation
