American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric Medical Specialty unit, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience, AHA-issued BLS and PALS certifications, and an active OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient hospital setting in a Pediatric Medical Specialty unit
• Patient population includes pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Full-time, 13-week contract
• Schedule: 3 days per week, 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no other issuers accepted
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer proficiency required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, and collaborating with physicians during exams and minor procedures
• Interacts with patients and families regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Previously placed travelers who have completed 26 weeks at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for another contract
• Compliance requirements, including drug screens, background checks, and medical documents, must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
