American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Dialysis position requiring 2+ years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Hemodialysis Department operating 24/7, equipped with 9 bays and 1 isolation room for Hepatitis B patients
• Patient population includes those with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute kidney injury (AKI), metabolic imbalances, dialysis access problems, or drug overdoses requiring hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
• Apheresis patient population includes patients with neurologic, renal, or hematologic/oncologic diseases
• Patients are acutely ill with a variety of medical-surgical or critical care diagnoses
• Telemetry monitoring capability is available in the department, with cardiac monitoring provided by hemodialysis nurses during treatments
• For hemodynamically unstable ICU patients, treatments are performed at the bedside in the patient's room
• Average length of stay in the department is 4–5 hours for hemodialysis and apheresis treatments
• Equipment used includes Tablo Dialysis Devices, Baxter Amia PD Devices, and Spectra Optia Apheresis Devices
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• 3x12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend requirement
• On-call required on Sunday nights only
• Floating required between 3 campuses within the same health system
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — NC or compact license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Nursing care is supported by certified hemodialysis technicians and a nursing secretary
• Peritoneal dialysis is performed in the patient's room
• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during the compliance process — two attempts are allowed; study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
