American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Hematology/Oncology unit position requiring active ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Details

• Position is based in a hospital hematology/oncology (step-down) unit
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma state license or eNLC compact license) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certificate required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Administers and monitors chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IV infusions, and blood products
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and physician-ordered treatments
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before re-applying after the 26-week maximum
