American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (PCU/Telemetry) position requiring at least 2 years of experience, cardiology specialty experience, and Epic proficiency at a large Level 1 trauma teaching facility in Vermont.

Details

• Miller 4 PCU/Telemetry unit within a large Level 1 trauma academic teaching hospital
• Cardiology patient population including post-cath, STEMI, and structural heart patients
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Sunday
• Minimum of every other weekend required; scheduling adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
• Floating required within the central pool PCU; travelers float first
• No block schedules permitted
• Epic EMR in use; experience required
• 16-week assignment with possibility of extension up to 32 weeks
• Bi-weekly Monday orientations available

Requirements

• Active VT or Compact RN license required (NY candidates may be considered with proof of pending NY licensure)
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience in a large Level 1 trauma academic teaching facility required
• Cardiology experience including post-cath, STEMI, and structural heart patients required
• Epic experience within the past 2 years required
• Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Reliable personal transportation required; public transportation is not accessible in this area

Additional Information

• Candidates with vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November through April
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Complete work history including bed count, EMR, facility type, and trauma level is required
• This is an interview-to-offer (IVS) position
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local; those living 51–100 miles away qualify for a mid-tier travel rate
• Distance is measured by straight line, not driving distance
