American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED Flow Navigator RN for a night shift position in a high-volume Level II trauma center Emergency Department, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience including 1 year in an ER setting.

Details

• Large, high-volume Emergency Department with 101 beds in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center setting
• Typical patient ratio is 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Support staff includes techs (cardiac monitoring unit and internal processing area, triage) and unit clerks on days and nights
• Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Documentation via Cerner (experience required)
• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required; scheduling must meet department needs and block scheduling is not available
• Floating is required within all sections of the ED; no floating outside of the ED

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) preferred
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• All certifications must be issued by AHA or ARC and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment
• Ability to coach staff and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Role involves serving as an ED Flow Navigator, requiring strong teamwork, real-time coaching ability, and flexibility across all ED sections
• Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, respectful behavior, keeping patient boards updated, and providing regular updates to patients throughout their visit
• Previous HCA experience is preferred
• Navy scrubs are required
