American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU position at a Level II trauma center in Asheville, NC, requiring 2+ years of experience and weekend evening/overnight shifts.

Details

• Located in a 40-bed PACU unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Shift hours are 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Scheduling is done in 6-week blocks with 3 on-call shifts required per 6-week period
• Float within peri-anesthesia areas including Endoscopy, Pre-Op, and Phase II
• Cerner is used for documentation
• Unit support includes a HUC available 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM and 4 PCTs per day assigned to specific pods
• PCTs are able to draw labs, perform catheterizations, and transport patients
• Standard PACU equipment used

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU experience required
• Trauma experience required
• Pediatric experience required
• NIH Stroke Scale experience required
• Ventilator monitoring experience required
• SSN (US only) and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (candidates from Florida or Missouri must provide two references)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• Surgical green or navy scrubs required
• The hospital is a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center serving as the regional referral center
