American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet-designated, Level II trauma center hospital in Asheville, NC, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and high-risk obstetric skills.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit (Unit 707) located on the 4th floor of a 16-bed unit within a large 815-bed Magnet-designated hospital
• Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
• EMR: Cerner and Fetal Ink
• Equipment includes Baxter pumps and Philips electronic fetal monitoring
• Common procedures include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and cesarean hysterectomy
• Floating may be required to MFMU, Mother-Baby, and NICU units
• Weekends and on-call are not required but may be available upon approval
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS/ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics card), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (intermediate or advanced AWHONN, or NCCEFM)
• Minimum 2+ years of L&D experience required
• High-risk obstetric experience required
• Immediate newborn care experience required
• Circulating experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Hospital is a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and includes a Level III NICU and the region's only children's hospital
• Unit team consists of charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and RNs on both day and night shifts
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• AHA or ARC certifications are accepted
