American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with NICU and L&D experience for a 13-week night shift contract at an acute care hospital in Washington State.

Details

• Acute care inpatient hospital setting
• Respiratory Therapy department covering inpatient areas, including adult, pediatric (via ED), and NICU/Level 2 nursery patients
• Approximately 25 treatments per day
• Ventilator equipment includes PB 980, Philips V60, and Respironics Lumis
• EMR: Epic
• Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend work required
• One holiday shift required
• 4 or more RTs staffed per night shift
• Lead therapist on staff every shift
• No on-call or standby call required
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
• RRT or CRT certification required
• Active certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS — pending certifications are not accepted
• Active Washington State RT license required; license required if applicable — pending licenses will not be accepted
• NICU experience required, including competency with bubble CPAP and care of neonates 32 weeks and up
• L&D (Labor & Delivery) experience required
• Ventilator experience required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include drawing ABGs, BiPAP and ventilator setup, nebulizer treatments, and conscious sedation and cardioversion standby
• RTs assist with intubation but do not perform independently
• RTs do not perform EKGs
• Hospitalist or intensivist is available in-house 24/7
• Department-specific orientation provided (12 hours)
• Unit manager will conduct a phone interview as part of the review process
• Personal scrubs in any color are acceptable
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
