American Traveler is seeking a Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist with 3+ years of hospital experience and preferred PICU/NICU background for a night shift travel contract in Des Moines, IA.

Details

• Hospital/medical center setting in Des Moines, IA
• Respiratory therapy unit serving patients of all ages, with potential to work across PICU and NICU floors
• Cross-training on the general pediatric floor to assist when needed
• Equipment used includes High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV), Jet ventilator, and Servo U
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Night shift: 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM, 36 hours/week
• Every 3rd weekend required, subject to change based on staffing and census
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating across multiple campuses may be required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• CRT or RRT credential from the NBRC required
• Minimum 36 months of respiratory care experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• PICU/Neonatal (NICU) intensive care experience highly preferred
• Experience with HFOV, Jet ventilator, and Servo U highly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Active certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), and either PALS or NRP
• Iowa state respiratory care license highly preferred; candidates in the licensing process will be considered (estimated 1–3 week turnaround)
• License required if applicable
• Driver's license required for consideration
• One supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 24 months required for consideration
• Candidates who have been employed by this facility as an FTE or PRN within the past 12 months are not eligible for this position

• Provide respiratory therapy services to patients of all ages, including in PICU and NICU settings

• All certifications must be active and in hand — pending certifications will not be accepted
• Both CRTs and RRTs are eligible for this position
• Holiday coverage is required as part of a rotation
