American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Wound Care & Hyperbarics travel position in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital outpatient wound care and hyperbarics department setting
• Serves an average of 24–32 patients per day, including surgical, trauma, and chronic wounds such as pressure injuries, venous ulcers, and diabetic foot ulcers
• 8-bed unit with a patient ratio of 8:1
• Equipment used includes Hoyer lift and cast saw/VAC
• EMR: Epic and iHeal
• Day shift: 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM
• 36 hours per week
• Weekends required as needed by the facility
• On-call required as needed by the facility
• Floating required as needed by the facility
• 15-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — must be eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri (MO license or compact license accepted)
• BLS certification from AHA only
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in the specialty
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
• Ability to stand and walk most of the shift, with significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning of patients
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs

Additional Information

• Previous wound care experience is preferred
• Performs direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
• High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
• Black scrubs required
• Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate
• Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after that, they must either separate from the facility for a minimum of 1 year or transition to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
• The facility is a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and a Level 2 Stroke Center
