American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and specialized neuro-surgical skills including ventriculostomies and arterial lines.

Details

• 10-bed Progressive Care Unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes medical cases (neuromuscular disorders, meningitis), Primary Stroke Center, TBI, spinal cord injury, surgical cases (brain and spine tumor resections, spinal surgery, head and neck cancer), and Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) trials with lumbar drains
• Day/Night rotation, 36 hours per week
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, invasive BP monitoring via arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP, trach CPAP/ventilator patients, low-dose pressors and vasoactive/inotropic medications, mannitol and 3% saline, complex wounds, and post-surgical lines/tubes/drains

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
• Hands-on experience with ventriculostomies, subdural drains, and lumbar drains required
• Experience with arterial lines and invasive BP monitoring required
• Experience with trachs, BiPAP/CPAP, and ventilator management required
• Experience with vasoactive medications, low-dose pressors, and inotropes required
• 2 manager references required for consideration

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
• Care for a complex neuro-surgical and neuro-medical patient population requiring advanced monitoring and drain management skills
