Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position in a hospital respiratory unit, requiring current Oregon RT licensure and certifications including ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP.

Details

• Hospital-based respiratory unit setting
• Patients include those with COPD, asthma, and interstitial lung disease
• Ventilatory support monitoring is a core component of the role
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift
• 13-week contract
• Travelers may be floated to other departments where qualified before core staff is floated

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current Oregon RT license required (license required if applicable)
• Current RRT credential required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with repositioning patients over 100 lbs using appropriate techniques or team assistance
• Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions, including those on ventilatory support
• Evaluate patients' physical and mental status and anticipate patient and staff needs
• Must be able to multitask and function effectively in a group or class setting
• CRASE training is preferred; if the assignment extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
• Work environment involves frequent exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials; PPE use is required
• Fast-paced, unpredictable setting requiring the ability to respond to emergency or high-pressure situations
• Participation in required education for DNV programs as applicable to the position
