American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Coastal Virginia, requiring Epic proficiency, prior neurology/stroke experience, and an active VA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit (6S) within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes neurology and stroke patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio is 1:7
• Schedule is 3x12 or 4x12-hour day shifts (7:00–19:30); indicate shift preference when applying
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required
• Holiday coverage required within the contract period
• Epic EMR — proficiency required, no exceptions

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through American Heart Association required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with prior travel nursing experience also required
• Prior experience working with neurology/stroke patients required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Demonstrated skills in IV insertion and telemetry interpretation required
• Clean licensure and background history required — any prior hits will result in disqualification
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

• Provide telemetry-monitored nursing care to med/surg patients, including neurology and stroke populations
• Position is located in Coastal Virginia, minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk
