American Traveler is seeking a Behavioral Health RN with at least 2 years of psych experience and 1 year of M/S experience for a 13-week travel contract in the Phoenix, AZ area.

Details

• Behavioral Health unit serving adolescent, adult, and geriatric psychiatric patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:12 with tech support
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• One weekend shift per week required (Friday does not count as a weekend day)
• Floating required PRN across up to 3 facilities within a 24-mile radius (Mesa, Roosevelt, and Maryvale locations)
• May be required to float down to Behavioral Health Tech (BHT) role PRN
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical (M/S) experience within the last 5 years required — must be from a dedicated M/S or true psych M/S unit (floating experience does not qualify)
• Proficiency required in tube feedings, NG tube insertion and maintenance, Foley catheter insertion and maintenance, IV insertion and maintenance, and voluntary/involuntary commitment processes
• Must be willing to take on a charge nurse role across all areas, including med-psych
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Orientation is 2 weeks in duration and is held on day shift only, beginning on Tuesdays
• CPI certification is preferred and can be obtained on-site
• Blackout dates with no approved time off: 5/22–5/25, 7/3–7/6, and 9/4–9/7
