American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Behavioral Health position in Alaska, caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients on a 4x12-hour day shift schedule with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Details

• Inpatient behavioral health unit setting, recently converted to primarily serve adolescent patients aged 14–17
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Unit operates with 4 beds and an average daily census of 4
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 across all shifts and weekends
• Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Block scheduling is in place
• Floating is required
• Medication management via Pyxis
• Documentation via Cerner
• SBAR communication framework used on the unit

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred
• Psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience required
• Experience with adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric behavioral health patients beneficial
