American Traveler is seeking an experienced Psychiatric/Behavioral Health RN for a night shift travel contract in Alaska, working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in a specialized behavioral health unit.

Details

• Behavioral Health unit of an acute care hospital setting in Alaska
• Unit has transitioned to a primarily adolescent behavioral health focus, serving patients aged 14–17, with additional adult and geriatric patient populations
• Small, specialized unit with 4 beds and an average daily census of 4
• Consistent 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio across all shifts and weekends
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Block scheduling in effect
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating to other units required
• Medication administration via Pyxis
• Documentation via Cerner
• SBAR communication framework utilized

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred
• Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrub color is required
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
