American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical (Adult) position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of med/surg experience and an active Hawaii RN license by the start of the assignment.

Details

• Hospital-based medical unit with 50 beds serving adult patients (18 and over)
• 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Day shift position scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
• Various shift lengths and days are required — flexibility is essential
• Floating may be required to surgical, pediatric, or transitional care units
• EMR: Meditech; additional equipment includes Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
• 15-week contract

Requirements

• Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon offer acceptance
• Minimum 2 years of med/surg or higher level of care experience required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred

Additional Information

• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend the Employee Health appointment Friday morning
• Department-specific training and orientation is included in the first week
• No holiday RTO requests will be accepted
• Professional nursing attire required; no specific scrub color; closed-toe shoes required
