American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adult Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of one year of ED experience and trauma experience, with all certifications issued by the American Heart Association.

• Work setting is an Adult Emergency Department in a hospital environment
• Day shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Travel and trauma experience required for this role
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Trauma experience required
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products, and assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observing patient status and intervening when necessary
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge needs; makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Previous travelers who have completed 26 weeks at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for another contract
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced; candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
